Privacy
We report on mass surveillance. We are not going to practice it. Flock IT will never sell, share, rent, or trade any information about anyone — full stop. We gather only what the service needs to function, and nothing more.
What we collect from readers
Nothing. No analytics, no trackers, no fingerprinting, no advertising technology. Every page is served without a single third-party request: fonts are self-hosted, and the share buttons are plain links — no social-network scripts watching you read. Our web host keeps standard, short-lived server logs for operational purposes (keeping the site up); we run no analysis on them. If you use our search, your query is processed in memory to produce the results and is never recorded.
Cookies
Reading Flock IT sets no cookies. A session cookie exists only if you sign in to the staff dashboard — it is strictly necessary for signing in, and it does nothing else. If you dismiss our one-time privacy notice, that choice is remembered in your own browser's storage and is never transmitted to us.
The newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address for exactly one purpose: sending you the newsletter. Double opt-in — nothing is sent until you confirm. Every edition has a one-click unsubscribe, and the emails carry no open tracking and no click tracking: we cannot tell whether you opened one, by design — tracking is explicitly disabled on every message we send. Delivery is handled by SendGrid, which processes your address to deliver the mail and briefly logs delivery status (delivered or bounced) — that is the extent of it. Your address is never shared, sold, or used for anything else.
Staff accounts
Dashboard accounts are invite-only and exist solely to run the site. We store an email address, an optional display name, and a role — nothing else.
